Jen Hajj dabbles in many things, and can't call any one endeavor her life's work. She travels the world performing her hand-crafted songs and stories. She contracts with the local Audubon Society to create one of the largest bird festivals in the country. And she makes art.
She learned to sew in grade school, watching her mother make most of her clothes. In high school, she developed an interest in art, and dabbled in many different media including clay sculpture, pen and ink drawing, pastel, and papier mache. In college, she discovered costuming and spent a couple of seasons creating costumes for the Rocky Point Haunted House. After a long break, she returned to art in her late 30s. She started carving linoleum blocks in 2015.
Here is the place where you can order her lino-cut designs, printed onto t-shirts and tote bags. Or a website. Or business cards. Or graphics for your new CD. Or a Cocoon for your traveling musical instrument.

How is it done?
Linoleum cut is a printing process where the design is transferred to a block, carved using carving tools, and then stamped onto the desired media using printing inks. Jen first draws the design, then she photographs it using her phone. She flips and then prints the image (everything has to be a mirror image of the desired final product) in the best size for the block, then transfers the design onto the block. The image is carved in relief. Ink is applied to the completed block using a brayer, then applied to the shirt or tote bag. Pressure is applied. The block is removed and the shirt is set aside to dry, which usually takes 12 hours.
